Message Review

Main points and scriptures from this week's message.

Your life is filled with opportunities known as proving grounds.

“Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.”  –Ann Landers

Talk-it-Out: Have you ever faced a big challenge or setback that you can now look back on and see how it was actually a great opportunity?

John 6:5–6 (NIV)
When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for He already had in mind what He was going to do.

Talk-it-Out: Why do you think that Jesus was testing His disciples in this moment?

Talk-it-Out: The Proving Ground is a place of testing, and every test has a question waiting to be answered. Briefly go through and answer each question next to the test.

The Test of Small Things: Can you handle more?

The Motivation Test: Are you doing the right thing for the right reason?

The Credibility Test: Can others count on you and trust you with the opportunities given to you?

The Wilderness Test: Are you ready to make the changes that progress requires of you?

The Authority Test: Do you respect and appreciate the authority God has put in your life?

The Warfare Test: What is your adversity quotient?

The Offense Test: Are you going to let circumstances and situations in life offend you?

The Test of Time: Do you get better or bitter with time?

The Lordship Test: Do you accept that God’s way is always right?

Main Point: Testing always precedes promotion.

Talk-it-Out: What is your initial reaction to testing always precedes promotion?

Talk-it-Out: How does knowing that change your attitude about your season moving forward?
